NZ Spring Camp - Parent's Page
Supervision
The
Camp takes the safety and well-being of it's participants very
seriously. We have implemented many policies and measures to
ensure that all campers enjoy a safe and incident free environment.
Our confidence in our staff and these processes has allowed
us to add a supervision guarantee to our package. Since implementing
our guarantee 5 years ago, we are still the only ski/snowboard
camp in the world that formally guarantees camper supervision!
|
All
camp staff have current first aid certifications, undergo police
checks, and arrive weeks before campers to complete staff training
programs.
All
camp activities are supervised, and our child protection policy,
medical response plan and camp operating procedures have been designed
through close consultation with professionals in their field.
Remember:
We are still the only ski/snowboard camp in the world that guarantees
camper supervision!
For
further details on our supervision guarantee, visit the guarantee
page.
Reference
List
A
list of past campers and parents has been composed for those who
wish to receive a first hand account of our Super Camp. The list
contains contact details of past participants who have volunteered
to speak about their Super Camp experience. Please contact us at
info@thecamp.net
and we will be happy to send the reference list to you.
Safety
The
safety and well being of your child is our number one concern. We
have a high staff to camper ratio for this very reason.
In
the event of an accident, the world class NZ resort ski patrol are
there to deal with any incident. Any major accidents are referred
by ski patrol to any of New Zealnads first class medical facilities.
In addition, most camp staff have completed and hold current
First Aid Certificates and are equipped to deal with unexpected
situations.
In
the event of an emergency parents or family will be contacted immediately
by a member of camp staff.
Snow
Sense
An
important part of any skier/boarder's development centres around
their knowledge of both their sport and it's environment. Our
coaches constantly educate campers in 'on snow' common sense
(snow sense), in an informal setting. Snow sense covers areas
such as, on hill safety, awareness, ethics and respect for other
mountain users. Campers are encouraged to understand their place
on the mountain, and their obligations under the Alpine Responsibility
Code.
Helmet
Policy
All
campers are required to wear a helmet at all times whilst skiing
or riding during our Super Camps and Progression Camps.
Do
I need a visa for New Zealand?
Campers
with Australian passports do not need a visa
to enter New Zealand on holidays for less than 3 months. More information
on immigration laws and requirements can be sourced from your
local New Zealand Embassy.
